Heather Harrell

Heather Harrell brings a unique background and rare combination of skills to her legal practice, holding both a medical degree from a top medical school and a law degree. Heather has deep substantive experience in the areas of health law, privacy, and bioethics. She previously served as a fellow at the Institute for Bioethics, Health Policy and Law at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, as an adjunct professor of health law at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, and as an adjunct professor of health policy and legal history at Bellarmine University. She has researched and published on biobanking ethics and laws, among other topics. Clients appreciate Heather’s ability to bring an intricate knowledge of the healthcare industry to her legal practice.

Heather served as a law clerk to the Hon. John G. Heyburn on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. She previously worked as a staff attorney for a large regional law firm, and served as a volunteer attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky.
